About Mr. Sachin Pilot

Mr. Sachin Pilot is the son of Late Shri Rajesh Pilot. He was born in Saharanpur, U.P. on September the 7th, 1977. He got his B.A (Hons.) Degree from St. Stephens College, Delhi University. Mr. Pilot started work with the BBC at the Delhi Bureau. He has worked for General Motors Corporation. He then went on to get his MBA Degree from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He completed this course by specializing in multinational management and finance.

In May 2004, Mr. Pilot was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha (Lower House) from the Dausa Parliamentary Constituency of Rajasthan. At 26 years of age he became the youngest Member of Parliament in the Country. Mr. Pilot remained a Member of the Parliament's Standing Committee on Home Affairs, and Member of the Consultative Committee in the Ministry of Civil Aviation as also a Member of the Budget Estimates Committee of Parliament.

Mr. Pilot has been selected as one of the Young Global Leaders 2008 by the World Economic Forum, in recognition of his professional accomplishments and commitment to society.

In May 09, he was elected to the Parliament from Ajmer Parliamentary Constituency of Rajasthan and is now serving as MOS in the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology.

He has been travelling extensively in India, especially in the remote and interior areas of the Country to spread the message of communal harmony and social justice. He is focused on the empowerment of farming community and youth. He is also trying to inculcate a sense of social and political responsibility amongst the youth that live in the rural and the semi urban areas of the Country.

He is a Board Member in the Management Committee of Delhi Cricket Association (DDCA) as a nominee of the Government of India.

Mr. Pilot has been fond of flying and got his private pilot's license (PPL) from NY, USA in 1995. He is also a keen sportsman and has represented Delhi State in a number of Nationals Shooting Championships. He is well travelled and likes to keep himself abreast of current political and economic affairs, both within and outside India.
