About Mr. Pradeep Kashyap

His career spans 40 years, first 17 years working with Exide, Bosch and Denso in the corporate, and the next 23 years, in both development and corporate sectors. He has been Marketing Advisor to Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and has served on Prime Minister Office and Chief Minister Committees on rural development as also national committees of Reserve Bank of India and similar institutions. He is a World Bank and United Nations consultant.

He founded MART in 1993, a marketing consultancy firm working in emerging markets. A visionary, he has conceived several new concepts, like 'micro-finance to mirco-enterprise', 'public private partnership' for development sector and 'rural marketing' as an important growth strategy for corporates. He has championed the introduction of 'Rural Marketing' in the academic curriculum in the Business Management Schools in India and Bangladesh. He has authored the most definitive 'Rural Marketing Book' for students and practitioners alike. He is known as the father of rural marketing in India.

Some of the high impact concepts: Co-created Project Shakti with Hindustan Lever to appoint 46000 women micro entrepreneurs from micro finance groups, as company dealers; comprehensive livelihoods promotion model - the 3M approach; a collective marketing model involving 7500 women from 500 backward tribal villages in Orissa.

He has modeled MART as a 'Business Mind, Social Heart' organization based on spiritual principles and family values.
