'Cloud computing' is the new term for delivering solutions and applications over the Internet. Just as the Internet once had a disruptive effect on existing businesses such as real estate, travel and the publishing industry, cloud computing is now disrupting the Hi-Tech Industry as we know it, and it will also have significant implications on the security industry. The idea is that computing will increasingly be delivered as a service, over the Internet, from vast warehouses of shared machines or via private clouds. Documents, emails, applications and other data will be stored online, or 'in the cloud', making them accessible from any PC or mobile device. This model of course presents a set of new opportunities along with many challenges for the security industry and for security professionals. This keynote will discuss this disruptive computing model, its implications on the enterprise, the vendors and the security professional, and the missing pieces that needs to be in place to make it secure and reliable.
