Climate change is bringing new challenges. More extremes in the weather conditions do bring floods. Especially the delta regions in the world turn out to be vulnerable. And delta regions the places where most people are living, economic activities are concentrated, high investments in real estate and infrastructure are located, food production is concentrated and bio diversity is at its richest. So we need to react strongly and quickly.

ICT gives tools to do so: Quick but thorough analysis, modeling research, sophisticated communication.
But the reverse is also true: ICT can improve itself as a authentic science thanks to the new insights of climate and water issues that take place over the globe.
