Water - Demonstration

“Technology as Enabler for Grassroots change” - “ Experiences from ASHWAS in India”

• Lack of good quality data, weak institutional capacities and low awareness at the grassroots level contribute to poor access to water and sanitation facilities across India.
• Using a participatory citizens’ survey to engage people in their local water issues and to collect household level data at a massive scale through a rigorously monitored process.
• Using IT tools to structure, analyse, provide quality control and finally empower data-based decision making for improved water and sanitation services.
