About Mr. Paul van der Molen

Professor Paul van der Molen (60) holds a degree in geodesy from the Delft University of Technology. After his military duty as a naval officer, he served many years as a managing director of regional offices of the Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency.
From 1991 onwards he served as the main policy director to the Executive Board, when he was appointed as director Kadaster International in 2001.
Since 2000 he holds the chair of cadastre and land administration at the International Institute for Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation 'ITC' (a Faculty of Twente University of Technology). He published many papers about land policy, land management and land administration.

He is past Vice President of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), past chair of the Dutch Association for Cadastre and Land Surveying, past chair of the Netherlands Association for Geodesy, past chair of the Netherlands Foundation for Geodesy 'Geodesia', and honorary member of the National Association of Geoinformation (GIN). In 2010 he was appointed as an honorary member of FIG.
