About Mrs. Clara Centeno

Clara Centeno has degrees on Telecommunication Engineering and Business Administration.

She worked 13 years on the banking business services sector, providing technology, systems and business and strategy advice on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the banking sector across Europe.

Since 2001, she is working at the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) of the European Commission Joint Research Centre, carrying out evidence based socio-economic research on Information Society developments and ICT take-up in the European Union.

Since 2006 she is leading the research activities to support the development of European policies that aim at applying ICT-based applications and services to: increase socio-economic inclusion of groups at risk such as migrants, youth at risk and women; to support availability and quality of caregivers in domiciliary settings; to make learning more efficient, equitable and innovative; to identify what will be the future skills needed to work in Europe and what will be the new ways to acquire them; and, to enhance public governance.
