eGovernment: Challenged - Keynote Speech
The Malmö Declaration: Outlining a new era of eGovernment
Minister Mats Odell will speak about the content and spirit of the Ministerial Declaration on eGovernment that was adopted in Malmö during the Swedish Presidency. The Declaration sets out a common vision and policy priorities on how Europe should develop eGovernment in the future. The vision is to create a new generation of open, flexible and collaborative eGovernment. The policy priorities to be achieved by 2015 are to use eGovernment to empower citizens and businesses, reinforce mobility on the single market and enable efficiency and effectiveness. The implementation of the policy priories should be supported by appropriate key enablers and legal and technical conditions. With the Declaration as a platform, Minister Odell will outline his ideas and show examples on how collaboration with third parties and stakeholder involvement truly can empower people.
