About Mrs. Els Blaton

After obtaining a Masters Degree in Physics at the University of Antwerp in 1985, Els Blaton had several professional experiences as a teacher and in smaller companies. In 1989 she went to Paris as a CGI-consultant, where she had her first projects in an insurance company.

In 1991 she came back to Belgium to continue her career in the Financial sector. At Paribas Belgium, Artesia group after the merger with Bacob, she assumed different functions, from project manager to head of the IT development department for corporate and private banking.

In 2001 she took the opportunity to make the switch to AXA BELGIUM. Being part of this group she was able to take full advantage of her knowledge and experience gained in IT, organization and banking. From July 2007 on Els Blaton is CIO of AXA BELGIUM and a member of the executive committee.

After important evolutions in the organization and the introduction of a process-oriented way of working, Els Blaton's challenge for 2010 and the following years will be a fundamental transformation of the AXA IT environment and the evolution of the IT talent to be ready to face future challenges.
