About WCIT 2010

It is with great pride and excitement that The Netherlands hosts WITSA's 17th World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT). We have great ambitions and developed an inspiring theme: Challenges of Change that will strengthen the long-term impact and value of the World Congress on Information Technology.
Coming to WCIT 2010 in Amsterdam means among other things:

  • Meeting the most influential and innovative minds in business, politics and academia from all global regions
  • Reviewing issues of global importance and participate in defining how change can be realized and even accelerated through the application of IT leading to a better, safer and opportunity-rich world
  • Identifying business opportunities and doing business
  • Learning about the "Dutch approach" and find out why the Dutch cabinet has named ICT as the Axis of Innovation
  • Getting insight in the success of the Dutch knowledge economy, with an estimated 25% of the Dutch labour force working as knowledge workers, and with a focus on the application of IT in all segments of Dutch economy
  • Learning about the results of the European i2010 Program, a key element of the Lisbon Strategy for growth and development
  • Being in one of the most attracting and beautiful cities in the world, hosting some of the most famous museums in the world such as the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank House.

WITSA's World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is without a doubt the premier event where business leaders, public officials and opinion leaders from all global regions come together to share and build a vision of a connected planet with access for all. The WCIT 2010 promises to continue that tradition. We have great ambitions and developed an inspiring theme: Challenges of Change that will strengthen the long-term impact and value of the WCIT.

On the agenda will be various issues of global importance. During the World Congress the most innovative minds in business, politics and academics will discuss these issues and define with each other how through the application of ICT change can be created and even accelerated within the various dimensions of life leading to a better, safer, and opportunity-rich world.
