WCIT 2010
The World Congress on Information Technology 2010 in Amsterdam will be a true meeting of visions and thoughts. World and business leaders will discuss and share their visions. Issues and policies of UN-bodies will be connected to the world of ICT. The congress is hosted by ICT~Office, representing the Dutch ICT industry, and co-hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the City of Amsterdam and is supported by the European Commission.
The WCIT 2010 Organization takes care of the organization of the event on behalf of the four (co-)hosts. Together, these parties have installed a Program Committee. The Council combines parties from commercial businesses, governments and institutions and the academic world. The Program Committee has a strong say in the final program and content of the event. At the WCIT 2010 Organization, a full project team is in place and at the disposal of a Track Leader to make every track a success.
"It makes me extremely proud that we have managed to bring the World Congress on IT to The Netherlands. In fact, WCIT 2010 is more than just a congress. It is an international forum that brings together some of the most influential and creative minds in business, politics and academia from all over the world. They will come together to discuss global developments. They exchange policies and ideas on how ICT can enable change and innovation in all parts of the world. WCIT 2010 provides opportunities for all to share, learn and look ahead. Therefore, WCIT 2010 should not be considered merely as a congress, but should be seen as a Challenge of Change.
The concept of WCIT 2010 is unique. In part, this is due to the large steps that were made in preparation to the event. A remarkable collaboration between government and business came into existence, giving the congress an extraordinary radiance. They challenge the process `from command and control to collaborate and connect`, which will lead to innovation.
I would like to thank all partners, hosts, the government and the European Commission, whom have helped to make this congress such a success. I wish for all your personal challenges of change to be reached. Furthermore, I promise that you will all learn more in these three days than you could ever imagine."
Yours sincerely,
Ralph van Hessen
